Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, paprika, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Add tomato puree and tomato paste. Cook until the oil starts to separate from the masala.
  4. Add marinated chicken pieces to the pan. Cook until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.
