Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Chef Priya: "Hey Nisha, today we’re going to make a dish that’s a favorite of so many—Chicken Tikka Masala! What do you think?"

Ingredients:

  • For Marination:
    • 500g chicken (boneless, cut into chunks)
    • 1/2 cup yogurt
    • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chili powder
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tbsp garam masala
    • 1 tbsp lemon juice
    • Salt to taste
  • For Gravy/Sauce:
    • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
    • 1 large onion, finely chopped
    • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 2 medium tomatoes, pureed
    • 1/4 cup cream
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 1 tsp cumin powder
    • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
    • Salt to taste
    • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps:

Chef Priya: "Let’s start with the marination, Nisha. We need 500g of chicken, boneless and cut into chunks. Mix it with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt. Let’s coat it all well!"

Chef Nisha: "This marinade smells fantastic already! After mixing, cover the chicken and let it marinate for at least 1-2 hours. If you’ve got time, letting it sit overnight makes it even better."

Chef Priya: "While the chicken marinates, let’s get the gravy ready. Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Once hot, toss in a finely chopped onion and cook it until it turns golden brown and aromatic."
