Chicken Fry Recipe by Chef Priya
Chicken Fry Recipe
Chef Priya: "Today, we're making a super crispy and flavorful Chicken Fry, a favorite dish in Indian cuisine. Let’s start with the marinade!"
Ingredients:
- 1 kg chicken (cut into pieces)
- 2 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Steps:
Chef Priya: "In a large bowl, combine chicken pieces with red chili powder, turmeric powder, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, coriander powder, lemon juice, and salt. Massage the spices into the chicken and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes. This will allow the chicken to absorb all the flavors!"
Chef Priya: "Once the chicken is marinated, heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. When the oil is hot, carefully add the marinated chicken pieces. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy on all sides. Make sure to fry them in batches to maintain the crispiness."
Chef Priya: "Once fried, remove the chicken pieces from the oil and drain any excess oil on a paper towel. Your Chicken Fry is now ready to serve. You can garnish with some fresh coriander leaves or a squeeze of lemon juice!"
Chef Priya: "Serve this crispy chicken fry as a starter or with a side of rice or naan for a complete meal. Enjoy!"

Chef Nisha: "Next up, let’s make a flavorful and spicy Chicken Gravy. This gravy will perfectly complement our crispy chicken fry. Let's get started!"
Ingredients:
- 1 large onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 green chilies (slit)
- 1 tbsp red chili powder
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup coconut milk (optional for richness)
- 1/2 cup water
- Fresh coriander (for garnish)
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp oil
Steps:
Chef Nisha: "Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add finely chopped onions and sauté them until they turn golden brown. This will form the base of our gravy!"
Chef Nisha: "Now, add the ginger-garlic paste and slit green chilies to the onions. Sauté for another minute until the aroma fills the kitchen!"
Chef Nisha: "Next, add the pureed tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally until the oil begins to separate from the masala."
Chef Nisha: "It’s time to spice it up! Add red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Stir well to ensure the spices are evenly mixed into the gravy."
Chef Nisha: "Add water to the mixture and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, so the gravy thickens and the flavors develop. If you want a richer gravy, you can add coconut milk at this stage."
Chef Nisha: "Once the gravy has thickened, it’s time to bring everything together. Add in the crispy fried chicken pieces from earlier and let it simmer for another 10 minutes. This will allow the chicken to absorb all the flavors of the gravy!"
Chef Nisha: "Garnish with fresh coriander leaves for a fresh burst of flavor. Your Chicken Gravy is now ready to serve!"
Chef Nisha: "Serve this chicken gravy with steamed rice or naan for a satisfying meal. Enjoy!"
